Sunrise Beach Shelters
North Beach Shelter

Shelter Hours
Shelters are located at the north and south ends of the beach. The shelters have fireplaces and picnic tables. Shelters are available Monday–Thursday and Sunday until 10:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday until midnight. There is an outdoor grill adjacent to the North and South Beach shelters. Bring your own charcoal.

2018 Reservation Fees
Reservations of the North and South beach shelters are as follows:
Monday – Thursday $52
Friday – Sunday $155
Additional Picnic Table $100

Making Reservations
Beach shelter reservations must be made by residents at least 21 years of age who agree to remain on-site and assume responsibility during the use period. Payment and required paperwork must be completed at least two weeks before the date of their reservation.

If you wish to serve alcohol, you must either provide a Certificate of Insurance for a minimum of $1,000,000 (Host Liquor Liability) naming the Lake Bluff Park District as an additional insured for the date and time of the rental through either your homeowner’s policy, caterer or through Contact Guest Services at (847) 234-4150 for more information on insurance procedures.

Beach Patrol
Beginning May 12, the Park District will continue the night beach security patrol to ensure that our curfew is enforced and that appropriate activities are being supervised. They will also verify shelter use and or alcohol use permits.

Please Note

  • Reservations are first come, first served.
  • Shelter use is limited to six hours.
  • Shelter capacity not to exceed 75 users.
  • If parking east of Moffet Road after 9:00 pm, pick up your parking permits at the office.
  • Staff will sign your approved rental permit and give you a copy.
  • Be prepared to present your approved shelter permit to Police or Beach Patrol personnel upon request.
