Park District Mission
The Lake Bluff Park District exists to provide public recreation facilities and programs for the health and welfare of all citizens of the Lake Bluff Park District which could not otherwise be provided, practically, by private enterprise. Inherent in the purpose of the Park District is the development and maintenance of existing facilities with emphasis upon the District’s natural resources. It is vital that the Lake Bluff Park District be responsive to the leisure and recreational needs of its citizens.
Park Board Meetings
Park Board meetings are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month in room 120 at Lake Bluff Park District Recreation Center at Blair Park, 355 West Washington in Lake Bluff. The public is invited to attend meetings. The meetings are televised and shown on Comcast channel 19 Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and Thursdays at 12:00 pm.

Medical and Accident Insurance
The Lake Bluff Park District does not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants — the cost would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have proper coverage.
ADA Compliance
The Lake Bluff Park District complies with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. If anyone in your family would like to participate in a Park District program but requires special facilities or equipment because of a disability, please phone 847-234-4150. The Park District will make reasonable accommodations in recreation programs and facilities to enable participation by an individual with a disability. The ADA requires that recreational programs offered by the Park District be available in the most integrated setting appropriate for each individual. If you have any questions about the Park District’s policy regarding ADA, or believe you have been discriminated against by the Park District, phone 847-234-4150. A procedure is available for the resolution of complaints.
Summer Jobs
Each summer, the Lake Bluff Park District takes applications for summer positions such as camp counselors, lifeguards, umpires, and program supervisors. If you are interested in extra work or if you currently go to school and need to earn extra money, apply in person at the Park District Recreation Center.
Lake Bluff Park District Boundaries
A Lake Bluff postal address does not, in itself, determine Park District residency. Residency is determined by residing within or working full-time for companies located within the Lake Bluff Park District boundaries. In both instances, taxes are being paid to the Lake Bluff Park District. Non-resident fees are intended to apportion an equalizing fee to our non-resident participants, so they contribute to the overall financing of the park system on an equitable basis with residents. Park District maps are available at the Park District office at Blair Park.
High School Students — Take Note
All adult programs are open to high school students unless otherwise noted.
Min/Max
For each program at the Park District, there’s a minimum number of registrants needed before a class can “go.” Most teachers are paid per class period, not per student. So if enough people don’t register, the Park District loses money — your money. In order to determine adequate registration, your registration must be at least 7 days prior to the first date the class is held.
But why a maximum? The more students, the less individualized attention. We like to keep the student/teacher ratio low to ensure you get what you expect — a high quality program. The minimum number of registrants is the first number shown. The maximum is the second one shown.
Resident/Non-Resident Fees
When two fees for a program are shown with a slash separating them (for example $50/$60), the first fee is the Park District Resident fee. The second fee is the Non-Resident fee.
Lake Bluff Park District brochures are delivered by the Lake Bluff Post Office to homeowners/businesses in Lake Bluff, Knollwood, and North Chicago. Even though you receive a brochure through the mail, you may not be a Park District Resident. Please call the Park District Office, 847-234-4150, if you have any questions concerning resident requirements.
Photo Policy
Photos are periodically taken of participants in a class, during a special event or at the District’s parks. Please be aware that these photos are for Park District use only and may be used in the District’s brochures, pamphlets or website. Local Links
